15 Top Kitchen TIPS


1-Measuring cups:
before measuring oil or syrup in a cup try washing it with hot water first, this will pevent oil or sugary syrup from sticking to it and it will be easy to clean later.

2-Pie crust:
when you try to roll a pie crust dough ,roll it between two pieces of wax paper , it will be easier to roll this way ;) and will not stick to your working surface.

3-how to test old baking soda:
  have you ever forgot a box of baking soda for about 1 year or something :) ?? yes I can see you smiling and knodding...well ,add 1 tsp of your OLD baking soda to a cup of vinegar..if it starts fizzing..so it is good.

4-Open tight jars EASILY:
   If tapping on it with a knife didn't work...try grip its lid with 2 latex gloves ,it won't slip and will be opened easily.

5- Muffin tin OTHER uses:
   after stuffing your bell peppers or tomatoes , bake them in those muffin tins , this will keep them upright and nice looking after baking!!

6- Flour bugs:
   To keep thise nasty bugs away from your flour..tape some bay leaves to the inside of the lid. amazing ha??

7-Fruit Pies:
  When making pie, sprinkle the sugar under the fruit instead of on top.
 This prevents pie from boiling over.

8- Buttermilk SUBSTITUTE:
  Ran out of buttermilk??? don't panic ,here you go...add 1Tsp of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk, let it sit for 5 minutes then stir it.....and here you go...:)

9-Pickle Juice uses:
    Use sweet pickle juice to thin salad dressing or make French dressing with instead of vinegar, more delicious.
10-Gravy sauce:
   Salt added to flour used for thickening gravies, etc., will help to prevent lumping

11-Parsley:
   Wrap parsley in foil first, then freeze. Shave off as much as needed, rewrap and return to the freezer. It will retain its flavor and freshness

12-Eggs:
   Fresh eggs' shells are rough and chalky; old eggs are smooth and shiny.

13-Burnt food:
  to clean the vessel of that burnt food....put some chopped onion in it ,pour some boiling water in it,,leave for 5 minutes then CLEAN!!

14- Rolling pin:
    if you you have some dough sticking to your rolling pin , put it in the freezer for 5 minutes and then clean. :)

I definitely have to try out the baking soda trick! I KNOW I have at least a box that is um, a couple of months or even years old! :)
